Deepavali Sweet Chef Contest

I participated in Deepavali "Sweet Chef" contest conducted by The Hindu News Paper on 18th October.  Here are some of the snapshots from that event. Just forgot - I made "Gol Gappa Kulfi" for the competition.  Very nice to have R. Rajesh, Chef from The Park Hotel along with Shruti Murali and Sneha Murali of The Krishna Sweets to taste my dish.

Narendra Modi

Narendra Modi just became the Prime Minister of India yesterday.  He went to meet his mother.  His mother was a servant who worked at others' houses and his father used to sell Tea in Railway Station.  His mother was thrilled to see him.

Modi was a Gujarat Chief Minister for three terms.  After he became the Prime Minister, people were so happy, they started dancing.  Today he came to visit Delhi.  People threw rose petals on him.  I am so happy to have a great Prime Minister like Modi who came from very humble family.

Loving Sister

Once upon a time there lived a good man called, Ravi.  He had two kids - one girl and one boy. Both of them fight with each other like dogs.  Ravi's wife vexed with the kids and complained to Ravi after he came from office.

Ravi wanted to teach the kids a lesson.  He asked the daughter to come with him to his friend's home.  His friend had only one daughter and not other siblings.  Ravi asked her if she is happy. The little girl said - "No, Uncle.  I am not". But when Ravi looked around, he saw so many toys all around the room and that response puzzled him.  So he asked the little girl why she was not happy. She said - "At my age, I no longer need toys.  I need a brother or sister or friends of my age.  If I talk to elders, they treat me as a kid for everything.  If I talk to toys, i get bored as they do not respond."

Then the little girl asked Ravi's daughter - "Do you have a brother or sister?".  Then Ravi's daughter said - "Oh yes!! I have a cute naughty brother who loves me so much.  My birthdays' are colorful because of him.   I too make his birthdays' special".  Little girl felt sad for not having a brother.  Then Ravi's daughter said - "One more thing.  I have a beautiful sister too.  And that is YOU!!".  Then the little girl felt very happy and kissed Ravi's daughter.  Ravi also kissed his daughter.
